Greg Calder

Born in Detroit, Michigan, Greg got his first set of drums at the young age of five. Greg’s playing activity increased, and he soon found himself on the road with several groups. Greg ranks high among drummers who are versatile and savvy enough to play any style of music.  Having performed in a professional capacity since the age of 16, Calder has toured, performed and recorded with a veritable who’s who of Detroit and other area names. Among them have been:

East Coast Blues Rock Legend, James Montgomery, Catfish Hodge band w/ Jimmy McCarty, the Rusty Day Band (lead singer of Cactus), with Dallas Hodge: the Salvage Band, Deluxe Band, the original Motor City All-Stars w/ Silver Bullet Band members; Craig Frost, Chris Campbell, Drew Abbot, and Norma Jean Bell. Toured and recorded with Brian Hyland. Performed with Little Anthony. Also worked with the Garfield Blues Band, the Kenny Parker Band, west coast tour with Nikki and the Korvettes, recorded and performed with the multiple award winning Mimi Harris and the Snakes, and a host of others too numerous to mention.

Also noted, Greg was the session drummer for many recording projects at Holland Dozier Holland Recording Studios in Detroit, Michigan for several years. (working with head engineer, Robert Dennis).

Most recently, Greg can be heard around town playing in several different Blues/Rock/R & B groups but most noted the Detroit Daggers, all instrumental featuring: Robert Gillespie (Guitars), Mike Marshall (Bass) and Greg on drums.
